This method of getting beverages has been around for thousands of years. Many thought that those important juices in fruits and vegetables were not only delicious, but had healing qualities as well. The thing is… they actually do! Some vegetables are better than others, though.

Even back then, people of ancient civilizations knew of the detoxification and healthy benefits that these fruits and veggies have. More and more people are turning to them, especially as diabetics.

What is diabetes?

Diabetes is a terrible disease that affects millions of people around the world. The disease in itself inhibits your body from producing insulin, which is the hormone that regulates carbohydrates and blood sugar levels.

In a normal, functioning system, glucose is moved through the cells to give them energy. This does not work with diabetes. There are two common types of the disease, even though it comes in many other forms:

Type I: This is the first stage of the disease, often called “juvenile diabetes”. This is where the immune system begins an attack on part of the pancreas and destroys insulin-producing cells. People under 30 are the ones that usually that develop this disease and can prove life-threatening at times if left untreated.

Type II: This is the most common form of diabetes and is usually contributed by obesity, also known as “adult-onset diabetes”. People over the age of 30 are the ones that normally get this, but the age gap is getting lower and lower.

Type II sometimes brings too much insulin into the blood, leaving a possibility of sharp increases in blood sugar. With type II diabetes, your body develops insulin resistance, causing your pancreas to weaken and slack.

How do vegetables affect diabetes?

While diabetes is a terrible disease and is sometimes hereditary, it can also be obtained through unhealthy eating. The main way that vegetables affect diabetes is by preventing it in the first place.

Altering your diet to become healthier, including vegetables and proper proteins, will significantly reduce your risk of diabetes. In some cases, it even reverses diabetes.

It decreases sugar and cholesterol levels in the blood, which is one of the causes of type-1 and type-2 diabetes. However, once gotten, it is reported that diabetes shows no signs of depleting blood sugar.

How is juicing vegetables good for diabetics?

These blends can be a variety of things too, including carrots, cilantro, kale, grapefruit, and more. While eating vegetables is the better choice, there’s nothing wrong with getting a bit of liquid.

Fiber is one of the most important things one can have in their diet when it comes to diabetes. With it, not only is it healthy, it will also regulate your blood sugar, lower your carbohydrate count, and raise your nutrient levels.

It’s always wiser to eat more veggies than fruits. A good rule of thumb is to follow the 80/20 rule. That means 80% veggies and 20% fruits.

Because of so much good stuff in these veggies, drinking the juice will supply your body with the proper regulation that your blood sugar needs. It will not only make your body healthier, it will assist in many things that diabetes has ruined for your body.
